A CARFAX Canada Vehicle History Report helps you understand a used vehicle’s past. It brings together available records on accidents, service, registration and more, so you can make a more informed decision before you buy.
At Brampton East Toyota, free CARFAX reports are available online for most used vehicles. You don’t need to fill out a form or contact us to view them.

What can a CARFAX report show?
The details depend on the information reported to CARFAX Canada. Here’s what to look for.
- Accidents & damage
- Reported accidents and damage, including repair estimates and costs when available.
- Registration & imports
- Where the vehicle has been registered, along with available import records and U.S. history.
- Service history
- Reported maintenance and repairs, which may include service dates, locations and the work performed.
- Safety recalls
- Available information about open safety recalls.
- Stolen status & branding
- Whether the vehicle is reported stolen, plus reported vehicle statuses such as salvage or rebuilt.
- Odometer readings
- Available kilometre readings to help you review the vehicle’s recorded mileage over time.

What do CARFAX badges mean?
Badges highlight specific details about a vehicle. Read the full report for the information behind them.
- No reported accidents
- No damage information has been reported to CARFAX Canada for the vehicle. This doesn’t guarantee that it has never been in an accident or sustained damage.
- One owner
- Identifies a vehicle with one previous owner, registered for personal use or as a personal lease. CARFAX Canada can’t determine this for every vehicle.
- Low kilometres
- Indicates a normal odometer pattern, a history of fewer than 18,000 kilometres per year and a recent odometer reading reported to CARFAX Canada.
- Certified pre-owned
- The CPO badge identifies a vehicle registered in Canada as manufacturer Certified Pre-Owned, meeting that manufacturer’s program requirements.
